Video Tutorial: Scenarios

Tutorial Topics

Step One: Log Into Your DialMyCalls Dashboard

Log into your DialMyCalls account and open “Broadcasts,” then choose “Scenarios.” You can also click “Run Scenario” at the top right of your dashboard any time you want to send a saved Scenario.

Step Two: Create A New Scenario

Click “Create Scenario.” Choose one of 15 ready-made Scenarios, such as School Closure, Severe Weather Alert or Shift Coverage Request, or select “Start from scratch” to build your own.

Step Three: Name Your Scenario

In the Setup step, type a name you’ll recognize, such as “Weather Alert.” The name is optional. If you leave it empty, DialMyCalls will name it for you based on your messages.

Step Four: Choose Your Channels

Select how the Scenario will be sent: Text Message, Phone Call, Email or any combination of the three.

Step Five: Select Your Recipients

Choose the contact groups or individual contacts this Scenario usually goes to. Recipients are optional, and you can always change them when you send.

Step Six: Write Your Message With Dynamic Fields

Write your message once. For details that change each time, click a suggested dynamic field such as Location, Severity or Date and time, or click “Create my own dynamic field.” Check “Same as the text message” to reuse your text for the phone call and email.

Step Seven: Review And Save Your Scenario

Check how your message looks on each channel, then click “Save.” Your Scenario is now ready whenever you need it.

Step Eight: Fill In The Details And Send

When it’s time to send, open your Scenario and click “Review & Send.” Confirm your recipients, fill in the dynamic fields, and review the cost estimate. Check “Confirm this Scenario send” and click “Send Now.” To preview it first, switch to “Test” to send the Scenario to your own phone and email.
